How much does your service cost?
Our service offers two programs: Credit Cleanse+ at $129.99/month with a $129 initial work fee and Credit Cleanse at $89.99/month with an $89 initial work fee. Your first work fee will be billed 6 days after sign up, with monthly payments beginning one month after registration.
How will I know what progress is being made?
At any time, you can log into your on-line account page to view up-to-date progress. There is a
timeline and progress report as well as a credit analysis view.
Can I fix my credit myself?
Every individual has the responsibility to monitor and protect their own credit. The government
has a set of laws to help you called the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Safeport Law steps in to
help when you need professional assistance from people who work with the bureaus and these laws
every day.
Do you just send lots of letters and hope the creditors don't respond in time?
In our experience, that isn’t how things work. The credit bureaus and creditors receive millions
of disputes monthly. They are prepared to handle a heavy flow of challenges, so when we address
an item from your credit, we expect a response. Each challenge is unique to you and your credit
situation.
Can I apply for credit while working with Safeport Law?
You certainly can but should be aware that applying for new credit will add new inquiries to
your credit report which will impact your credit score.
How can bad credit be legally addressed?
It is your right and responsibility to assure the accuracy of the items on your credit reports.
If the information recorded on your credit reports does not accurately represent your behavior
as a consumer, then you have the right to request that questionable information be removed from
your reports. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) and Fair Debt
Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) afford you the legal right to dispute inaccurate items on your
credit reports with the credit bureaus and your individual creditors.
Do I need to pay my bills while working with Safeport Law?
Yes you do. It is your responsibility to protect your credit while we are working on your
history. If you add new damage to your credit report, you will be working against us.
Is it possible for deleted items to reappear on my credit report?
It is possible for negative items to appear on your credit report again, after they were deleted
to be verified by a creditor. When this happens the Fair Credit Reporting Act states that the
credit bureaus need to inform you before re-reporting an item that had been deleted. It is a
rare occurrence to have an item removed and replaced, but it is possible.
Does paying my bills restore my credit?
If they are revolving or installment accounts, paying your bills every month will build your
credit history.
How long do charge-offs stay on a credit report?
A charge-off can remain on your credit report for up to seven years from the date of the first
late payment that led to default.
How long does bankruptcy stay on a credit report?
A bankruptcy can remain on your credit report for up to 10 years. The Fair Credit Reporting Act
(FCRA) outlines the credit reporting limitations for bankruptcies.
How are judgments collected?
Once you have a judgment against you, the plaintiff may be able to collect the money in several
ways including wage attachments or garnishments.
Can you remove late payments from my credit reports?
Safeport Law can help you understand what should and shouldn’t be on your credit report and
share tactics that may help you get incorrectly reported late payments removed.
Can repossessions be removed from a credit report?
There are two possibilities to remove a repossession. You can dispute a repossession or you can
try to negotiate with the creditor to remove it early.
Can you help me remove hard inquiries from my credit reports?
A Safeport Law specialist can analyze your credit reports and discuss your credit history with
you to determine which credit inquiries we may be able to help you remove.
Can you negotiate a bill in collections?
You can ask a debt collector or creditor to remove a collection and this type of favor is known
as a goodwill request.
